Illegal Alien support group coaches kids of illegals to lobby our legislators

This story in today's Washington Post was enough to make me sick. A Chicago-area Illegal Alien advocacy group called Familia Latina Unida is busing the children of illegal aliens who face deportation to our capitol in Washington DC and coaching them to plead with our legislators to keep their parents and other illegals from being deported because it supposedly breaks up families. The kids of course tear up and say things like "My parents are going to be deported and I'll be left here all alone!"

First of all, that's BS. The kids don't have to stay here all alone. They can go home with their parents and remain a family--a Mexican, Guatemalan, Honduran or Salvadoran family. Second, here we have people who defy our laws by entering our nation illegally and then they steal some citizen's social security number to get jobs that according to our laws they cannot have, and when they get caught, suddenly they want our legislators that we elected and pay to step in on their behalf. Talk about chutzpah! And sadly, it works sometimes, especially with Democrats like Rep. Jose E. Serrano (D-N.Y.), who recently introduced a bill to allow immigration judges the discretion to exempt illegals with kids from being deported.

Per the Post, Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, which seeks to limit immigration, says that this would be a mistake. "You'd be making having a kid an automatic get-out-of-jail-free card," Krikorian said. "You'd basically be saying that every illegal alien gets to stay permanently just because they had a kid once they crossed the border."

And he's right. Make that the law of the land and we'd see illegals racing to get pregnant even more than they already do--the birthrate for unwed latinas is already higher than those for unwed whites, blacks and asians in this country. The last thing we need is more of that as they hurry to push out anchor babies that will let them stay here indefinitely. In fact we really need to see our legislators do the right thing and amend the 14th Amendment to deny automatic citizenship to any child born here of illegal parents, and we need changes in our immigration laws that would prohibit these kids from sponsoring their illegal parents and every other relative for US Visas once they turn 21. One Mexican out of every seven is already in our country--most of them illegally--and when they're not busy breaking our laws, stealing our jobs and refusing to assimilate, they're sending billions of US dollars back to Mexico and out of our economy forever. When's it ever going to stop?
