Stupid criminal update.

So this retard and his skeezy girlfriend are cruising around an Anchorage, AK neighborhood looking for unlocked cars to steal from. They find one and it contains a Glock semiautomatic pistol. So what does this Einstein do with it? He shoots himself in the leg with it. His chick drives him to someone's home, drops him off, then bails back to--where else--the trailer park that she or they live in. Police recovered the gun from her car there. Now as soon as they can find the gun's owner, they can charge this dumbass criminal with felony theft. But the gun's owner doesn't face charges, according to Anchorage Police Department spokesman Lt. Paul Honeman, because it is not a crime to store a loaded gun in a car.

"It's just stupid," he said.

More than 1 million firearms are stolen nationwide each year, Honeman said. Of those, more than half are handguns. In Anchorage, one in four handgun thefts take place in unoccupied, parked vehicles. Many of them are left unlocked, he said.

"It's just a staggering amount. There's too many instances and it's too often," Honeman said. "You're more likely in this city to be a victim of property crime than any other crime."

So how about it, folks? Think the criminal should be working on a chain gang until he earns enough to pay for the medical care that us taxpayers are putting out for on his behalf? This his co-conspirator girlfriend should forfeit her Audi and trailer? And if any of you are in the habit of keeping loaded guns in unlocked cars, please stop. Go outside right now, bring it inside, and lock the car. To quote Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann as he counsels Private Pyle about an unlocked footlocker in the movie Full Metal Jacket:
If it wasn't for dickheads like you, there wouldn't be any thievery in this world, would there?

Now secure your guns if they aren't secure. Then go watch Full Metal Jacket again. It's what every man need to do every few months or so.
