America wins, Obama and progressives lose in Mass.

Martha Coakley concedes early as the voters in Mass. elect the first Republican Senator in nearly 40 years. Scott Brown goes to the Senate, denying Obama his 60-seat filibuster-proof majority. Rumor has it that several leading progressives have committed suicide...and no one seems to mind.

Sometimes things happen that reaffirm your faith in America. This election stands as one of them. God Bless the United States.

Machine politics lost in Massachusetts. The beauty of the two party system is that they can check each other, and if there would have been any more time with a democratic super majority it would have been dangerous to the country. The democrats got too comfortable, put an asshat up for election, and they paid the price. Even if their candidate was a reasonable one, they still would have lost because most American don't like their political parties enough to sign the country over to one.

This was a referendum of unchecked power in the hands of democrats. Thank God America voted no. America might have voted Obama president, but at least even liberal Massachusetts realized it would be too much to make him Czar.
