Got nothing...so here: Plane porn

Airshow footage of a Cessna 0-2A, a warbird very much on my "want" list.

Someone please--talk me out of buying one again.

  2. I never actually bought one, but every time I find one for sale at a price that I could pay (if I sell about half of my other stuff), I go back and forth and agonize about it until someone convinces me that it's really not a good idea. But they're so FLUFFY!

  4. @ NFO: Yeah, that and 22gph fuel burn, plus annuals on two engines and props. But still...

  5. I understand maintenance on that rear engine is a real nightmare.

But, yeah... Years ago at Oshkosh, I came that close to buying a O-2 warbird. Fortunately my Father, a Mooney 201 driver, dragged my starry-eyed @$$ away.

Good practice for him, as next year I came that close to buying a T-6.

You may never actually get it off the ground, but think of all the fun you'll have throwing money at it.

  8. Long ago, in another life, I was a member of the FAC squadron at Battle Creek, MI. They were still flying the O-2 but in transition to the A-37. Pretty sweet rid sir . . . . . Pretty sweet ride.

    MMmmmmmm . . . . probably not helpin' . . . . . .

  9. I say again, corrosion and overstress... If that bird saw combat, it's hosed... Anything agressive would probably fold the wings...
