America's favorite terrorist enbler-turned-pancake is back in the news today as her parents lost yet another lawsuit that they've filed against the Israeli government.
Israel court rules it was not at fault in 2003 death of U.S. activist killed by army bulldozer
Heck, they've sued anybody and everybody, including Caterpillar, the US manufacturer of the bulldozer that their idiot kid threw herself under nearly ten years ago while trying to dissuade it's operator from knocking down a house used by terrorists in Gaza back in 2003.
Fore those not familiar, Rachel was a spoiled liberal kid from Washington State who, along with her parents and liberal college, thought that it would be great to go to Israel for a year and mess with their attempts to stop Palestinian terrorists from firing guns and rockets at Israeli citizens. (Mom and Dad gave her the money to go and the school was giving her some sort of "study credit") So she invited herself into the war zone along with a couple dozen other "useful idiots" and began trying to annoy the Israeli Army when not joining her new friends in denunciations of President Bush or burning American flags in rallies.
It all came to an end one day when she donned a bright-colored jacket, grabbed a megaphone, and began running in front of a military bulldozer, trying to keep it from demolishing some houses that the terrorists had been using to snipe at Israelis from.
Despite being chased away and even tear-gassed several times, she kept it up until finally she managed to get in under the armored bulldozer operator's field of view and she got skooshed.
Ever since then, her parents have been blaming everyone but her (and themselves) and filing lawsuit after lawsuit, all of which have been dismissed. Today marks yet another vindication for common sense and the rule of law as the Israeli court in Haifa turned them away and rejected their demand for one dollar...and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attorney's fees and travel costs associated with their judicial jihad.
Tough break, Corries. But next time, try to raise a smarter kid (one that understands concepts like "Mass+Velocity = world of pain if it hits you"), or work a little harder on steering it away from foreign countries where it has no place being in the first place. Was Rachel just too much of a special snowflake to volunteer at a local hospital, school or shelter? I mean, it's not that I don't like to write about her from time to time, but damn, what do you expect is going to happen when you send a naive girl into a combat zone with just a red jacket and a megaphone?

Still at it. Rachel Corrie's liberal parents sue Israel over their daughter's death.
It's been seven years since American leftist Rachel Corrie demonstrated astoundingly poor judgment in trying to stop an Israeli bulldozer from flattening a house used by Palestinian terrorists by hiding in the demolition area and popping up in front of the machine at the last second, trying to play "human shield". The results were predictable--Rachel Corrie was crushed beneath machine that she'd tried to stop. (Previously discussed in this article.)
Since that day, her fellow leftists have tried to lionize her as some sort of noble heroine, and her parents--both activists on behalf of Palestinian causes themselves--have chosen to blame Israel rather than admit that they themselves screwed up by supporting her and giving her the money to travel all over the world to bother people in the name of her typically Marxist causes. They have filed lawsuits against the Israeli government and even against Caterpillar, Inc.--the American company that made the bulldozer that Corrie tossed herself in front of.
Fortunately, the court--the US Ninth Circuit of all courts--tossed the suit against Caterpillar. But hell hath no fury like a liberal who feels wronged, and the Corries are in Haifa today, trying to get a paycheck.
Let me say right here that I sympathize in part with the Corries. No one should ever lose a child and it cannot be easy. However they were the ones who condoned her world travel and anti-American protests, and as her enablers and financiers, they bear a lot more blame than the nation-state of Israel or a firm that makes construction equipment. If Corrie had stayed in Washington State and just focused on her studies instead of going to other countries to wail about their policies, she'd probably still be alive today. But she decided that the Israelis were only going to be able to enforce their national security policies over her dead body, so she got some money for plane tickets from mom and dad and off she went, probably not realizing that in this case, the "over her dead body" part wasn't exactly going to be figurative.
Still, that sort of thing is entirely predictable when one hurls oneself in front of a bulldozer.
That said, I have to stand with the people of Israel and call for the dismissal of this asinine lawsuit, followed by the swift deportation of the Corries from Israel. Frankly, it says a lot about that country that they even allowed the Corries into their country and gave them access to their courts. I doubt that Rachel's cherished Palestinians would have been anywhere nearly this hospitable had she been killed in Gaza by PLO madmen.
People wanting the truth about Rachel Corrie and her delusional cause need only visit rachelcorriefacts.org or read this commentary by Roberta Sied. It's clear that she had a number of emotional problems and unfortunately, when her parents just let her go her own way, others, including her progressive private school and assorted leftist activists around her were only too willing to indoctrinate and exploit her for their own ends, ultimately leading to her unfortunate death. In short, there is plenty of blame to go around, but none of it is Caterpillar's or Israel's.
Her parents taught her so well: Rachel Corrie burns an American flag in Gaza.

When "Over My Dead Body!" isn't Just a Saying...
The angry Left is very well-known for trying to impose their chosen lifestyle on the rest of us, either insisting that we stop doing things that they personally don’t like or demanding that we all live as they want to live. They’re really good at putting their foot down and trying to block other people’s chosen way of living, but sometimes they tend to get carried away and go just that one step too far. And as examples, I bring you this list of loony lefties who overdid things just a tad, typically in ways that also qualified them for the Darwin Awards:
Diana Cushing Canning and Anthony Hernandez, both of California. On October 26, 2002, Canning and Hernandez basically knocked their own heads off as they were traveling through San Francisco in a converted school bus with their heads sticking up through a skylight. The skylight hit an overhanging concrete slab at the end of a tunnel, killing both of them. Canning and Hernandez were among two dozen passengers in the bus, en route to a demonstration against a possible war against Iraq. Another passenger in the bus said Hernandez and Canning had previously been asked to sit down while passing through the tunnel.
Rachel Corrie. In January of 2003, this over-indulged kid from Olympia Washington took a break from attending college courses and went to Israel. While there, she basically devoted herself full-time to protesting Israel and America and even burned American flags in front of cheering crowds of Hamas types. On March 16, she decided to stand in front of bulldozers that were removing structures that had been used by Palestinian terrorists and she wound up beneath one. “We were really surprised,” said one of her fellow useful idiot friends. “They’ve always stopped before.” Apparently they’d done this several times previously, but this time the operator of the machine didn’t see Rachel and she was inadvertently transformed into a human pancake.
Sebastien Briat, 21, from Meuse, France, In November of 2004, Sebastien chained himself to railroad tracks in that country to try to stop a train carrying nuclear materials. He rather stupidly chained himself to the tracks before the train actually stopped and placed himself just past a curve where the engineer was unable to see him until it was too late. Briat’s fellow morons said that Briat was “surprised by the train”, which ran him over, killing him. Surprise, asshole.
Tristan Anderson, 37, from California. Another trust-fund kid with no real purpose in life. He was struck in the head by a tear gas grenade on March 16, 2009 while throwing rocks at Israeli workers and soldiers who were building a security fence in Israel’s West bank. Like Rachel Corrie, Anderson was a member of the leftist “International Solidarity Movement”, a Palestinian front group that supports actions against Israel and the United States, mainly by recruiting spoiled rich American kids with low self-esteem and defective moral compasses.
Honorable mention: Weston Reidhead.
In the “hopefully he gets it right the next time” category, we have Weston.
On October 23, 1997, during an on-going campaign to stop a "salvage rider" timber sale in a wild, remote part of Northern California, Weston Reidhead was hit by a log truck on Sidewinder Road. Weston, born into a logging family in Southern Utah, was blockading one of the main haul roads for the controversial Outside timber sale in the Klamath National Forest, twenty miles south of Happy Camp. The log truck driver stopped his truck when he saw Weston in the road.
"The truck was stopped in the road and I was in front of it, yelling at the driver not to move, that I was under his tire. He called my bluff, but I wasn't bluffing," Weston stated after his feet were crushed by the truck's tires. Weston was transported by ambulance to
the emergency medical center in Yreka, and was treated for broken bones and lacerations on his ankle and feet. Weston only gets honorable mention since he didn't actually succeed in killing himself. As of the last report, he was still unable to walk and uses a wheelchair, or crawls on his knees.
Hey Weston, here’s a bit of advice: next time, put your head under the tires. That’ll show ‘em you mean business. Idiot.
Naturally, the left has lionized all of these fools. I don't condemn them for that, but I do wish that more leftists, to include Cindy Sheehan and the Code Pink harridans, would try a little harder to emulate them. Hey Code Pinkos--just a suggestion, but you could probably get a lot of attention if you all locked yourself together with a big, heavy pink chain and jumped off of the 14th Street Bridge into the Potomac...
