How Gun Laws are Really Enforced Against Criminals (Democrat edition)

In Detroit, home of all things Democrat, we have State Senator Virgil Smith finally getting his comeuppance....well sort of.

Smith, for those of you who don't recall, is the long-time Democrat politician from Detroit who, when confronted by his ex-wife regarding a naked woman that she found in his house when she stopped by shortly after the divorce, chose to beat her with his fists, chase her out of the house with an AR-15 rifle, fire several shots at her, and then fire several more into her brand new Mercedes.

Ironically, Smith has been a solid anti-gun vote as long as he's been in Michigan politics, including past votes to deny citizens the right to carry concealed and own "assault rifles" like the AR-15 that he used to shoot at his ex-wife.

Well he got a sweetheart plea deal from the Wayne County Prosecutor's office, basically dropping almost every felony charge against him in return for a single count of Malicious Destruction of Property. Dismissed were the following felony charges:
1. Domestic Violence
2. Assault and Battery
3. Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

All of those were much more serious than the piddling property crime, but hey--if you're a Dem politician in a Dem city and your father is a Dem judge, you're not going to get hammered even if you try to kill a woman. His sentence is merely that he gets ten months in jail, has to resign from the State Senate, and produce the rifle he used or fess up to where it is. That's right--he didn't even surrender the rifle to police that night. Nope. He hid it before they got there, and only now is the court ordering him to "surrender it or tell the court where it is".

Heck, had you or I fired a rifle at someone, the police would have busted right into our house to locate that rifle and destroyed the place looking for it. But in Smith's case, they just shrugged and left, apparently. Must be freaking nice.

And it's not like Smith had anything like a clean record. He had two prior DUI convictions, and should have had a third one--which would have been a felony in Michigan--but the case was conveniently screwed up and dismissed. Still, that arrest, even without conviction, could have and should have been taken into consideration before offering the plea and at sentencing. Apparently it was not. Because "bipolar" or something.

And the Democrats wonder why we don't want them passing more gun laws. Hell. They don't even enforce the ones on the books now...at least not when a fellow Democrat breaks them.

You know, when I was rolling around in a wheelchair waiting for what's left of my leg to heal and a new plastic one to get made, it never occurred to me even once that other people--complete strangers--owed me rides to places that I might want to go.
I guess that I was the fool for asking family and friends and for learning to drive again on my own. Gee, what an idiot I was. I could have just sold my car, dropped my insurance and gone to New York to rip taxpayers off every day instead.

Heck, I'm probably an idiot just for not getting me a Maryland mailing address and grabbing up a few Obamaphones like everyone else there seems to be doing now:

This just goes to show--again--that if you let government bureaucrats run a program, they'll decide that it's in their interest to get as many people into it as they can, actual need notwithstanding. And if they can partner with a few corrupt corporations that realize a profit from this...win for everyone, except the taxpayers, of course.

So can we just get government out of the charity business altogether now and give it back to the churches to handle?

Attorney General Eric Holder to Resign

I honestly cannot recall an official of that rank who was more corrupt and who displayed more bias and favoritism, usually against the majority of our country and our legal system. He was the first "Chief Law Enforcement Officer" to actually display open hatred and contempt for US Law Enforcement, and the blood of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry will forever be on his hands from "Fast and Furious" will never rinse off.

With a record of scandal and malfeasance that goes back to his days working for the Clintons, Eric Holder should never have been allowed back in government service, much less appointed Attorney General. But he was, and it's to the shame of the Obamaites, the media that refused to report on his past misconduct, and every Republican that failed to vigorously oppose him that he got a second chance to do so much wrong under color of law. He truly disgraced his office and the Justice Department and his departure comes six years too late to ever make that right.

Good riddance. Now let's hope that our new Congress and Senate investigate him properly and put him in federal prison where he belongs.

Yep. America and it's Constitution, both 400 years old. And this is obviously the smartest woman that voters in Houston could find to represent them. Says a lot about that part of Houston, doesn't it?

But aside from her ignorance about our nation and it's constitution, Sheila has been embarrassing her district routinely since 1995 with stunts like demanding a daily ride from her apartment to her office, a distance of one block, abusing airlines to the extent that she was kicked off of at least one, and burning through staffers like no one else in Congress.

She's also the one who, while touring the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2005, asked them to have the Mars Rover take pictures of the flag that Astronaut Neil Armstrong planted there in 1969. Mars...moon...whatever.

And knowing all of this, the voters in Texas' 18th Congressional District go to the polls every two years and yell "She's our gal!" and reward her with another term and the rest of us just have to live under the laws that she votes for or sponsors. Luckily for us, she generally doesn't do much besides messing up ribbon-cuttings in her own district and wasting Congress' time giving honors to racist drug-using rappers on the House floor.

Detroit--the gag gift that keeps on giving

A new year in Detroit, and a fresh start for the City Clowncil. It was just a couple of days ago that the Clowns met together and elected Brenda Jones Council as their President and Harold Cushingberry Jr., as President Pro Tem. So what does Cushingberry do? Well in true Detroiter fashion, he goes right out to a strip club and then leads Detroit Police on a short chase as he's leaving, after which he's discovered to have marijuana and an open container of alcohol in his car.

But this being Detroit, a police supervisor came along and not only did Cushingberry not go to jail as any common citizen would have, but the incident wasn't even officially reported up the chain of command, as per city policy.

Two sources familiar with the investigation said the councilman was leaving Starvin Marvin’s and almost hit police officers...

According to sources after almost being hit, the officers gave chase, but the councilman did not stop. Another car was called in to help with the chase.

The source said officers finally stopped Cushingberry’s car and spotted the open alcohol container and smelled marijuana.

“When they finally stopped him, he took off again,” the source said. “Then, he was stopped a second time and (Cushingberry) flashed his City Council ID card. There was another guy in the car who had a medical marijuana card, but it doesn’t matter; you’re not allowed to smoke in the car. A supervisor came over and put the kibosh on it, and issued a ticket for failure to signal. The officers did exactly what they were supposed to do.”

Detroit-based political analyst Steve Hood said “it'll be bad,” if the allegations are true, but they won't end Cushingberry's career.

"It's always damaging," Hood said. "Is it career ending, no?”

Break the law, get caught, drive off smiling with no consequences...but only if you are a "public servant" in a high position. Anyone else would have gone right to jail.

Of course Cushingberry has been a POS for decades and every voter in Detroit knows it, yet they keep electing him to any office that he wants. They've already made him a state representative for nine years and a county commissioner for sixteen. And in return, he embarrasses them and flouts the law with impunity.

And Detroiters wonder why the rest of that state and the rest of the country consider them a joke and refuse to bail them out any longer. Tell you what, Detroit...clean your house and get rid of some of the vermin and then we'll have something to talk about.

"I'm the only one here responsible enough to play with this gun!"

Former Mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin, shown here on the right, acts stupidly with an M-4 rifle in concert with his anti-gun police superintendent and toady Warren Riley, was just indicted today on 21 felony counts related to corruption in office.

"Trust me, I only have your best interest in mind" say the people who keep breaking the laws and stealing from us, typically while protected by their own armed security goons.

Anti-gunners. It would be so much easier to take them seriously--and so much harder to suspect them of hidden agendas--if so many of them were not so ethically and morally defective and just plain ignorant about the weapons that they want to take from you and me.

Maybe Nagin and Riley--long-time supporters of gun bans--could get together with Virginia Democrat Joe Morrissey, shown here with his thumb on the trigger of a rifle that he promises is unloaded:

These guys could form a new group called "Armed Stupid Simpletons Have Only Love for Everybody". That way, when someone proposes gun bans or more gun control, the rest of us can ask them if they belong to Nagin and Morrissey's group: "What are you, an (insert acronym here)"?

And this guy could be their public spokesman.

I understand that he's looking for work these days.

When your Supreme Court Justices are corrupt, where do you turn for relief?

This is a question that Michigan voters have to ask themselves now after they elected Democrat-endorsed Diane Hathaway to the Michigan Supreme Court only to see her come under FBI scrutiny for possible mortgage fraud.

At a time when people are losing their primary homes to foreclosures all across this country, Hathaway and her husband, owners of multiple ritzy homes in both Michigan and Florida, allegedly shed $600,000 worth of debt on a $1.5 million dollar house that they owned by unloading it at a short sale after transferring other homes that they owned to relatives then claiming that they had no other assets and were "distressed". Once the sale when through, the other homes were transferred right back to them, all without any cash changing hands. And a month after the short sale, one of Hathaway's stepdaughters bought yet another house for $195,000 cash and deeded it over to Hathaway, again with no money changing hands and no indication of where the stepdaughter got this money. The FBI is now investigating, Grand Jury subpoenas have been issued, and it looks like a Supreme Court Justice might well find herself impeached and hopefully disbarred before this is over. If it happens, she'll have only herself to blame, but the voters can blame the Democrat Party for endorsing and backing her relentlessly in 2008. Not surprisingly, she rode in on Barack Obama's coattails. What do they say about birds of a feather?

An accused Justice with any integrity would step down and refuse to preside over other people's legal matters until this is cleared up, but we're talking a Democrat here, so integrity likely won't come into play.

As reported by the Washington Times, half a million taxpayer dollars were used by Barry Obama not to create "shovel ready" jobs, but to run campaign ads on MSNBC's shows, specifically the shows of two of his most strident water-carrying sycophants.

Ever since Obama grabbed the nation's checkbook and started handing out stimulus cash, we're heard and seen how it's been channeled to Obama donors and supporters instead of being used to create public works like roads or bridges as we were promised when the Democrat-run Congress passed the spending bill. But this is just over the top, even for the First Kenyan. How does it create jobs to run Obama ads on two shows that pretty much no one but the Obama faithful even listen to? It should be clear to the whole country by now that the only jobs Barry cares about creating or saving are jobs for his cronies and suck-ups, and his own, of course. He couldn't care less about the rest of us and it's probably giving him a great deal of pleasure to keep rewarding his lapdogs and living the lavish life on our dime while unemployment continues to rise, gas prices climb, and foreign threats continue to grow.

I would suggest that when President Romney takes office in January, that an investigation of the whole corruption-plagued stimulus program be undertaken just as soon as we can get the GAO's office cleaned up and purged of Obama appointees and that every mis-spent dollar be reclaimed from the companies and individuals that it was awarded to, at least those that haven't already gone bankrupt. (Those need to be referred to the Attorney General's office for fraud investigation and criminal trials.) If Romney is any kind of man, he'll have MSNBC writing a check back to the Treasury Department for every penny that Obama gave them, and failing that, I seriously think that the government ought to look at seizing Obama's personal assets as well as those of then House and Senate leaders Reid and Pelosi, who colluded with Obama by rubber-stamping his agenda and refusing to allow any checks and balances or assuming any oversight on how the money was wasted. They were either criminally complicit or grossly negligent and they all need to be held to account if only to serve as an example and a warning to the next bunch who consider abrogating their responsibilities as "public servants" as outlined in the US Constitution. This crap needs to stop and people need to be punished for what was already done.

Sigh...but who am I kidding? We can't even get the mainstream media to report on any of this because they're on board with Obama and the Democrat Party too.

Clearly, it's not US shippers that are responsible.

Now to be fair, corrupt US agents contribute to the problem somewhat. And do I really need to reference Eric Holder's Fast and Furious criminal enterprise again?

Joe Biden earned $21,000 in 2011 by charging his own secret Service detail rent.

Vice President Joe Biden last year earned $20,900 in rental income from the Secret Service, which is paying him to host agents on his property so they can protect him.

Most high-profile people in need of protection pay people to keep them safe. Government officials are allowed to have taxpayers pick up the tab. Biden is unique in that he actually gets paid by his bodyguards for the right to protect him.

Biden’s tax records list rental income of $20,900 from a “cottage” on is property, which is reportedly being leased by the Secret Service and paid for at a rate that could earn him even more money next year.

Biden took deductions for mortgage interest and taxes that allowed him to report only $12,653 of the amount on his federal tax return.

Of course, the Bidens badly need the money. They only had an adjusted gross income of $379,035 last year. This probably also explains why they gave less than 1.5 percent of their income to charity.

Among the $5,540 in charitable donations were $1,000 to the UN World Food Program; $1,080 to the Northern Virginia Community College Alumni Scholarship Fund; $1,000 to the Diocese of Wilmington; Delaware; $360 to a breast health initiative launched by Dr. Jill Biden; and $50 to the Wounded Warrior Project.

And he and Obama want to tax US more? How about just cutting this expense out and making Biden put up for his own bodyguard force like any other wealthy American who wants one has to do?

Obama's latest snide attack only highlights his hypocrisy and lack of integrity...again

Wow. So now that Mittens is all but the official anti-Obama candidate, everybody in the Obama Administration from the White House grounds staff to Obama himself is now churlishly attacking Mitt's wife, claiming that she never had a job.

First of all, this is pretty hypocritical, coming from the guy that used to demand that his wife be off-limits to any criticism. And it's even more ridiculous when you look at Mooch's real "work history" and realize that she spent the last two years of her "job" at a Chicago hospital getting paid $63,000 a year for not showing up, and that this job--which she was offered right after Barack was elected to the Illinois State Legislature (a body that steers funds to this hospital)--was of such importance to the hospital that when Mooch finally did quit, they never even bothered to replace her or fill the position in any way.

Yeah, maybe the Obama team should just say what they really mean: The Romneys weren't smart or corrupt enough to wangle a sweetheart payoff disguised as a "job" for Mrs. Romney the way that the Obamas did.

And maybe if the Romneys had done such a questionable thing, the media would have refused to report on it just like they did when Barry and Mooch did it, right?

Dem Congresswoman says that we don't deserve to keep all of our money

Finally, one who comes right out and says it. This from Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, Democrat from Illinois.

“I’ll put it this way. You don’t deserve to keep all of it and it’s not a question of deserving because what government is, is those things that we decide to do together. And there are many things that we decide to do together like have our national security. Like have police and fire. What about the people that work at the National Institute of Health who are looking for a cure for cancer,” Schakowsky said.

Schakowsky also says one reason the 2009 stimulus bill did not succeed was because it was not large enough.

Well first of all, National Security is a Constitutional mandate--one of the few things that the federal government was specifically tasked with--so no one argues that. But that expense is dwarfed by a spending on things that aren't Constitutionally-mandated or even authorized...like "police and fire" which are local government responsibilities, and even that National Institute of Health, whose "cancer research" is duplicated and far surpassed by universities and private pharmaceutical companies, each of whom has plenty of motivation to cure cancer and numerous other diseases.

But here it is, folks--the defining difference between Democrats and Americans. They believe that if you earn it, they should get to decide how it gets spent and who should benefit from it, and too bad if you don't like it because they've got lawmaking ability and guns to back those laws up if you or I don't want to give up our money or any other property that they covet. And like this loon says, the only thing keeping their socialist wealth redistribution schemes from creating the perfect utopia here is that they haven't taken enough from us yet. But then that's probably pretty high on the list of things that Obama's new army of union thugs is supposed to help him with...just as soon as their matching brown shirts get here from whatever factory in China is making them.

In August 2005, Creamer pleaded guilty to one count of failure to collect withholding tax, and bank fraud for writing checks with insufficient funds. All of the money was repaid. U.S. District Judge James B. Moran noted no one suffered "out of pocket losses," and Creamer acted not out of greed but in an effort to keep his community action group going without cutting programs, though Creamer paid his own $100,000 salary with fraudulently obtained funds. On April 5, 2006, Creamer was sentenced to five months in prison and 11 months of house arrest.

Congresswoman Schakowsky was re-elected after her husband's indictment and has been re-elected three times since his conviction and sentencing.

Another day, another act of misconduct by Eric Holder

If this racist corruptocrat wasn't in ideological lock-step with Barack Obama, I'd have to suspect that he's got compromising video of Obama, a goat, a small Mexican boy, and a bottle of maple syrup. He should have been fired long ago. Hell, he should never have been appointed just due to his misconduct during the Clinton administration. But like I said--he thinks like Obama, and does things that Obama wants done but cannot publicly call for himself.

This time, instead of doing his job as The People's Attorney (which is what the Attorney General is supposed to be), he's taking a break from smuggling guns to the Mexican drug cartels and prosecuting the CIA officials who worked to help us find bin Laden and he's intervening in an immigration case to stay the deportation of an illegal alien for no reason other than the illegal, Paul Dorman, is a gay guy.

Now I don't have a problem with gay guys per se. If that's you thing, fine. But we do have a law called the Defense of Marriage Act which was passed by Congress and not declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. This law, which defines marriage as being between a man and a woman, is still "law of the land" and valid, and it's Holder's job--and Obama's--to uphold it regardless of their personal opinions on it. We already saw Holder arbitrarily declare this law unconstitutional back in February, acting as if he, not the courts, gets to make that call. That was wrong and should have warranted his rebuke or removal, but Obama wants the support of the gays and radical left, so he's good with letting Holder pretend to be the Supreme Court because elections are coming and he needs all of the special interest friends that he can get.

But now we've got Holder going even further and arguing on behalf of the People of the United States that a guy who is in our country illegally--someone who has absolutely no right to be here--should be allowed to stay just because he's gay and in a relationship with another dude. He's not even arguing that the illegal will face hardship or torture if returned to his home country--Ireland--nor is he explaining why the illegal's gay lover can't just follow him to Ireland. Nope. He's acting now not as the Supreme Court but as a defense attorney--the polar opposite of his actual job--and going against Congress and the mandate of his own office, which is to enforce and uphold our laws.

Holder needs to be removed and he needs to be removed now. And Barack Hussein Obama needs to be held accountable for everything that he's been letting--or telling--his rogue Attorney General to do.

Oh wait--Obama claims that he has no power over Eric Holder. At least that's what he told this 9/11 widow yesterday before he turned his back on her and walked away when she dared ask him a question at Ground Zero.

How about if we just let the gay Irishman stay and we deport Obama and Holder instead?

This article in the Washington Examiner gives a fantastic explanation of who bankrolled Lisa "elections-are-for-suckers-who-don't-have-powerful-fathers" Murkowski, and more revealingly, why they did so.

It also shines a light on so much of what is wrong in Washington inside BOTH parties.

My contempt for that sorry excuse for a woman has risen to an even higher level than I would have thought possible yesterday when it was announced that she'd prevailed over the will of the voters who'd ousted her fair and square in the Republican primary. Would it really be against the law to tar and feather her and ride her out of DC on a rail?

What's in the water in Detroit?

Seriously, what's up in that third-world city these days? Recently three Democrats who were indicted for bribery and corruption-related offenses separately pled guilty (and got pretty light sentences, IMHO) and as soon as they were sentenced, they filed appeals seeing to rescind their guilty pleas.

First we have Monica Conyers, wife of Congressman John Conyers. She was accused of peddling both her own influence as Chair of the Detroit City Council and taking money to deliver his vote on at least one issue. She pled guilty to a single count and got 37 months in prison. (I note for the record that he wasn't investigated, nor did he show any real support for her during or after her trial.) The loudmouth known even among Democrats as "Monica Monkey" due to her antics and public conduct is now claiming that she only pled guilty to bribery because she was unable to resist pressure from her lawyer, the government and the news media, apparently forgetting that she is herself a lawyer, something that she used to brag about when on the city council.

Monica's former Chief of Staff, Sam Riddle, also pled guilty to similar bribery charges and now he too is trying to appeal and get his thirty-seven month sentence lifted, even though he's also doing two years consecutively for pointing a shotgun at his then-shack-up, former Democratic State Representative Mary Waters.

Waters, by the way, is the third side of this warped triangle. She also pled guilty to accepting a bribe (and not reporting the income) and got a sentence of probation. But not to be outdone by her lover/attacker and his former boss, she's appealing her plea agreement, too. (Apparently she feels that it might hurt her in her current race for a State Senate seat.)

Naturally the prosecutors are contesting these attempts to take back the guilty pleas, and it's doubtful that the judges will allow the pleas which were knowingly and freely entered into to be withdrawn just because the convicted parties now suspect that they could beat the raps or just want better offers. Still, you hardly have to wonder why very few people are willing to take a politician's word on anything when we are treated to the spectacle of not one but three of them all admitting that they committed crimes and then trying to go back on their word. I mean, if you can't trust a politician to be truthful about his or her criminal activity under oath in open court in cases where the US Attorneys have them dead to rights (otherwise they wouldn't have pled out), when exactly can you take one at their word?

West Virginia voters are waking up! Corrupt Congressman Mollohan is GONE!!!

Na-na-na-na--Hey, heeey...Good-BYE!

West Virginia Congressman Alan Mollohan, long considered one of the most corrupt members of Congress, was booted by West Virginia voters in the Democrat primary race last night.

In 2006, the Justice Department opened an investigation of Mollohan that is believed to have focused on the rapid growth of his personal wealth and his pattern of securing federal funds for nonprofits he helped create.

Mollohan, 66, stepped down as the ranking Democrat on the House ethics committee that April and stepped aside in early 2007 from a subcommittee that handles funding for the Justice Department.

The investigation ended in January without comment or charges -- which Mollohan considered vindication.

Those of you who read my earlier articles on Mollohan--this one in particular--are, or course aware of the suspicious timing of his investigation being dropped, namely that it coincided with his sudden change from an opponent of Obamacare to a last-minute vote in favor of it.

It now looks as if the Obama machine was able to buy Mollohan's support, but once that had it, they were unable to save his seat...or perhaps they weren't concerned with trying seeing as how they'd already gotten what they needed from the guy.

This upset was a victory for conservatism and a repudiation of the Democrats' policy of "anything goes so long as we win", and it should make the remaining Dems worry about what's coming in November. You got the majority and used it to jam Obama's and Pelosi's agendas in our faces despite the opposition of most of the country, and in just a few months, the country's going to be in a position to start jamming back.

Now it just falls to the Republicans to not screw this up. Sadly, they have a history of screwing up and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, but if--for once--they just hold true to the conservative ideals that have always worked for them in the past--ideals that most of America has always embraced--then just maybe we can blunt Obama's efforts to turn America into a leftist third-world welfare state and make our country back into something that the rest of the world envies and respects again.

Obama went to Afghanistan for a few hours this morning.

"Big deal," I thought. Of course the AP still has to start out by saying that Obama "inherited" this war, ignoring the fact that he didn't get the Presidency from a probate hearing--he sought it out and begged for it like Rosie O'Donnell trying to get the last pork chop.

But what really got my goat was the report that Obama actually lectured Afghan President Hamid Karzai and told him to cut down on the corruption in his government.

I'm sorry, but after using our own money to bribe hundreds of congressman and senators in order to get them all to vote for Obamacare over the wants and desires of a majority of American voters, Barack Obama telling someone to cut down on corruption is like the late, unlamented Michael Jackson telling people not molest kids.

Odor of a corrupt bargain, indeed.

With all of the arm-twisting and bribes being put out there to coerce a majority of the Democratic Party to go against the will of their voters--most of whom opposed Obamacare--one has to wonder just how far the Obama Administration was willing to go to get those votes.

Well in the case of West Virginia's Congressman Alan Molohan, a representative who was "undecided" until just before the vote, (he then came out enthusiastically for it when it was too late for his constituents to pound him for it) it would appear that a very corrupt bargain indeed may have been struck.

If you recall, Molohan has been under criminal investigation by the US Justice Department for four year now, stemming from very substantial allegations that he used his position as a Congressman to facilitate and profit obscenely from some real estate deals that literally made him a millionaire overnight.

Of course this massive ethical cloud wasn't enough to get Nancy Pelosi to remove him from his position as Chairman of the House Ethics Committee, where he actually controlled the budget of those investigating him on similar lines in the House, but we all know by know that Pelosi's promise to "drain the swamp" and target corruption in the House came with an expiration date--it expired the moment that Democrats became the majority in Congress.

So what happened back in January when Obama was trying to get the support he needed for his unpopular heath care scam? The Justice Department suddenly closed it's investigation of Molohan. And yes, that's the Justice Department run by Eric Holder, a man well known for using his position to gain political support for his bosses, be it the Clintons or Obama. This is the guy who sold pardons and dismissed already-obtained convictions; shutting down an investigation that hadn't been wrapped up yet was probably child's play.

So Molohan's criminal case and the possible future of a few years in federal prison just vanished, and suddenly the Congressman who claimed to be "undecided" on Obamacare turned around and cast one of the final, crucial votes for it.

Coincidence... You decide.

A busy and dishonorable weekend in Washington, DC

Remember when our representatives in Congress actually represented us and voted accordingly?

Well today, the majority of them, Democrats all, disregarded their constituents--the people who voted them into office expecting to be...well...represented--and voted for a massive new social program designed to take control of the entire health care industry and give free stuff to the lazy while billing the producers. They did this because Obama and Nancy Pelosi told them to, despite the polls indicating that a majority of the country--including a majority of their own constituents--didn't want it.

They ignored the phone calls and letters that they all admit getting, they ignored the in-person visits from their own district residents, and they ignored the protests of organized outraged Americans from across the country. In so doing, they showed us all that their loyalty is to their party leaders first and their own constituents second, if even that.

Hear that drum beating? I hear it.

Now our National Mall in Washington DC is under siege by thousands of illegal aliens and their supporters, mostly relatives who benefited from a previous amnesty or special interest groups that get money to represent these trespassers and provide them with social services, again with the bill passed on to American workers. They're denouncing our laws, defiling our national flags, and demanding--demanding--that our representatives give them amnesty and American citizenship, making them fully equal to the rest of us and giving them priority over every immigrant who is trying to gain citizenship according to our laws that govern the process. And many legislators are caving into them, Republican Lindsay Graham foremost among them, as is Obama.

That drum beat is growing louder. Hear it yet, Washington?

Now we see that ACORN--the group that has been implicated in or convicted of fraud in numerous states on behalf of the Democratic Party and Obama--is going to keep getting our tax dollars despite a law passed by our representatives to put a stop to it. In other words, let the corruption commence again.

That drumbeat's getting louder yet. And those are war drums. The People are growing angry--the workers, the ones who play by the rules. The corruption and the disregard for the will of the citizens who sent you fools to Washington has to stop. If the 535 of you on the Capitol don't quit it and rein in the Marxist in the White House, We--the People--are going to have to find a way to stop you.

Obama now selling federal judgeships to pass his health care scheme

OK, I mean we all knew how low he was willing to go when he bought the vote of Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu (D)--Storyville, by promising to divert three billion dollars of taxpayer dollars to that state in exchange for a vote in favor of his cherished bill a few months ago, but now Obama has gone that one even better.

Representative Jim Matheson of Utah has been voting against Obama's health care industry takeover bill regularly and had indicated that he would continue to do so despite the pressure from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi because his constituents overwhelmingly don't want this bill passed (just like Landrieu's didn't).

Well tonight, Obama is having Matheson and nine other holdout Democrat congressman come to the White House for a closed-door meeting to try to convincw them to vote in favor, constituencies be damned, but he's apparently trying to buy Matheson off early by giving a plum patronage job to his brother, Scott Matheson. The White House just announced that Obama is nominating Scott Matheson to the Federal Appeals Court as a judge.

“Scott Matheson is a distinguished candidate for the Tenth Circuit court,” President Obama said. “Both his legal and academic credentials are impressive and his commitment to judicial integrity is unwavering. I am honored to nominate this lifelong Utahn to the federal bench.”

OK, so maybe it's all a coincidence, and there really was no one else as qualified as Scott Matheson anywhere in the entire Tenth Circuit, which consists of Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. But the timing is definitely suspect, and I don't think it's too much to ask that this president at least try to avoid even the appearance of impropriety when it comes to handing out peach appointment and soliciting votes from members of congress. But who am I kidding? That's the sort of thing that a president who actually cares what America thinks would do. This guy just wants his health care bill passed, and if that means that he bribes members of Congress (with our money), gives their family members nice things, or pimps his daughters out on Southern Avenue in Southeast DC, then it's pretty clear that he's going to do it; his health care bill is that important to him...more important than ethics, honor or the safeguards established by our Constitution; more important than the law.

I hope Matheson and the other nine Dems stand tall and continue to represent their constituents instead of selling out to the big-eared tin god in the White House, but it'll be easier for them if they know that America's watching. We can't stop Obama from imporperly and blatantly buying votes, but we can at least let those that he's trying to bribe know that we're watching.
