It's well past time, but the California woman who has been using her Senate seat to strip Americans of everything from their guns to their real property rights--unless there was something in it for her--is finally retiring.
Barbara Boxer Calling It Quits.
In a stunning display of "If I can't be in leadership, I'm leaving" petulance, one of California's liberal senators is slamming the door on her own ample ass in 2016.
Remember her? This is the woman who, in 1992, while still a member of the House of representatives, wrote 87 bad checks against her account in the House Bank, part of a large-scale corruption scandal involving reps from both parties. But what really stood out was when Boxer then took to the House floor to vote in favor of new legislation that would prohibit public disclosure of the records showing who bounced checks and for how much.
That sort of thing must have resonated right with Californians, most of whom seem to lack and sort of fiscal responsability based on their state's long-term financial mess, because they elected her to the Senate right in the middle of that scandal, and ever since then, she's been a reliable vote for gun control and legislation that put large swaths of public land in other states off-limits to development.
But she's now touting her "thousands of accomplishments" as she rolls towards the door. I wonder if she's referring to her bills intended to lower the cost for illegals to mail money out of our country or her emotionally-unbalanced criticizing of an Army general who dared, in full adherence to military regulations, call her "Ma'am".
That last gaffe at least gave us this funniest of political commercials:
Comedy gold aside though, I won't miss her, and neither will any American citizen who values her or her freedom.
The only downside to her leaving is that California just gets to elect another radical liberal to the position. Now me, I'm thinking that that state should be denied further representation until they get their own house in order and learn to control their own spending.
But again, it's because of ideas like this that no one ever lets me be president.

Sometimes we all get the government that only a few dimwits deserve
And Sheila Jackson-Lee, (D)-Tx, proves that point yet again.
Sheila Jackson Lee Thinks the Constitution is 400 Years Old
)
Yep. America and it's Constitution, both 400 years old. And this is obviously the smartest woman that voters in Houston could find to represent them. Says a lot about that part of Houston, doesn't it?
But aside from her ignorance about our nation and it's constitution, Sheila has been embarrassing her district routinely since 1995 with stunts like demanding a daily ride from her apartment to her office, a distance of one block, abusing airlines to the extent that she was kicked off of at least one, and burning through staffers like no one else in Congress.
She's also the one who, while touring the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2005, asked them to have the Mars Rover take pictures of the flag that Astronaut Neil Armstrong planted there in 1969. Mars...moon...whatever.
And knowing all of this, the voters in Texas' 18th Congressional District go to the polls every two years and yell "She's our gal!" and reward her with another term and the rest of us just have to live under the laws that she votes for or sponsors. Luckily for us, she generally doesn't do much besides messing up ribbon-cuttings in her own district and wasting Congress' time giving honors to racist drug-using rappers on the House floor.

West Virginia's Sell-out Senator seduced by anti-gun money
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, speaking to formerly-pro-gun West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin.
Joe Manchin, the former Governor of West Virginia, who ran for the Senate by touting his pro-gun credentials and who even made a campaign commercial showing himself shooting a rifle at a copy of the Obamacare bill (which he then voted for once he was safely in office), is now taking money from anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg.
Michael Bloomberg Will Host Fundraiser For Joe Manchin
So now Judas gets his silver after supporting legislation that he knows that most of his constituents didn't want. And now it's up to every West Virginian to make sure that "Sell-out Joe" chokes on it every time he appears in public in this state.
I got this story last week from Bob over at Drawn Cutlass, but I wanted to wait until after the week-end to get it out there. COme on, West Virginians. Spread this news and let's make the next five years long ones indeed for our traitor senator.

Michael Bloomberg Will Host Fundraiser For Joe Manchin
Manchin, a Democrat from Republican-leaning West Virginia, led the Senate’s push for a bill to expand background checks on private gun sales earlier this year in the wake of the mass shooting last December in Newtown, Conn. Manchin’s bill, co-sponsored by Republican Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, failed despite backing from the White House and Bloomberg’s own group, Mayor’s Against Illegal Guns.
The fundraiser, scheduled for July 22, marks Bloomberg’s efforts to reward those who supported the gun control campaign...

The real effect of Obama's sequester on America
The other day, when I was at the airport, I happened to talk to the guys at the repair shop about the effects that Barry Obama's sequester stunt is having on them. Now mind you, they aren't government employees and have no government contracts. still, they're hurting right now because a lot of their regular customers DO work for the government and are now husbanding their money instead of spending it on aircraft repair work.
Likewise, over at the FBO, they report that charters are down, fuel purchases and down and students are suspending instruction. A lot of these people also have government jobs, and Obama's decision to let the sequester hit and deny them all at least 5% of their pay for the year is really being felt by the businesses that cater to them. And actually, they're all getting cut 10% of what they'll make for the rest of this fiscal year, since the cuts came in half way through the year, so the impact is really hard-hitting on a lot of people.
Same thing over at a nearby restaurant that I like to hit whenever I fly. They've seen their business slow, and the part-time waitresses (part-time thanks to Obamacare) are now getting less hours because there's just not enough business to keep them working.
None of these people are government workers, but thanks to Obama's ham-fisted mishandling of our economy, they're all getting hurt just like the employees whose checks he actually is cutting. And this is just a micro-version of what's happening all across America in any business that offers goods or services to people who do work for the government. So the next time that you're tempted to dismiss the sequester as just affecting a few over-paid and under-worked bureaucrats, remember that it also hits every member of the armed services and every small business owner or employee of businesses that rely on these people as customers.
And come 2014, don't ever let anyone tell you that anyone is responsible for this other than Barack Obama and the House and Senate Democrats who could have averted it by accepting a few reasonable budget cuts to their pet programs but chose not to do so. Obama's chickens need to come home to roost in 2014, and we know that we can't count on the media to make that happen so it'll be up to you and me.
Spread the word and spread it widely and frequently.

"Democrat of the Year" convicted of stealing from wheelchair-bound blind woman.
Sometimes, the stories just write themselves.
Jeffco ‘Democrat Of The Year’ Convicted Of Felony Theft
Now the family is trying to get the award rescinded.
I say leave it. Carson's being publicly identified as the best corrupt person in a corrupt political party suits me just fine.
Jeffco ‘Democrat Of The Year’ Convicted Of Felony Theft
The woman named “Democrat of The Year” this year by the Jefferson County Democratic Party has been convicted of felony theft by a Jefferson County jury for stealing from a developmentally disabled 71-year-old woman. And the most despicable part? After this came to light, but before it was adjudicated in couret, the victim's family went to the Democrat Party leadership and begged them not to give Estelle Carson this award, citing her confession given to police. But Chris Kennedy, chairman of the Jefferson County Democratic party, just smiled and said that a confession didn't equate to a conviction, and besides, she'd done so much to help register Dem voters.
On Thursday, a jury convicted 66-year-old Estelle Carson of felony identify theft and felony theft from an at risk adult for stealing checks from the woman and using them to pay her own cable, cell phone and internet bills.
The victim is partially blind, developmentally disabled, has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. She is on a fixed income of $596 per month according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Half a Million Stimulus Dollars Used to Buy Radio Ads on Obama Attack Dog Shows
Blatant corruption, anyone?
As reported by the Washington Times, half a million taxpayer dollars were used by Barry Obama not to create "shovel ready" jobs, but to run campaign ads on MSNBC's shows, specifically the shows of two of his most strident water-carrying sycophants.
Labor Department spends stimulus funds for ads during Olbermann, Maddow shows
Ever since Obama grabbed the nation's checkbook and started handing out stimulus cash, we're heard and seen how it's been channeled to Obama donors and supporters instead of being used to create public works like roads or bridges as we were promised when the Democrat-run Congress passed the spending bill. But this is just over the top, even for the First Kenyan. How does it create jobs to run Obama ads on two shows that pretty much no one but the Obama faithful even listen to? It should be clear to the whole country by now that the only jobs Barry cares about creating or saving are jobs for his cronies and suck-ups, and his own, of course. He couldn't care less about the rest of us and it's probably giving him a great deal of pleasure to keep rewarding his lapdogs and living the lavish life on our dime while unemployment continues to rise, gas prices climb, and foreign threats continue to grow.
I would suggest that when President Romney takes office in January, that an investigation of the whole corruption-plagued stimulus program be undertaken just as soon as we can get the GAO's office cleaned up and purged of Obama appointees and that every mis-spent dollar be reclaimed from the companies and individuals that it was awarded to, at least those that haven't already gone bankrupt. (Those need to be referred to the Attorney General's office for fraud investigation and criminal trials.) If Romney is any kind of man, he'll have MSNBC writing a check back to the Treasury Department for every penny that Obama gave them, and failing that, I seriously think that the government ought to look at seizing Obama's personal assets as well as those of then House and Senate leaders Reid and Pelosi, who colluded with Obama by rubber-stamping his agenda and refusing to allow any checks and balances or assuming any oversight on how the money was wasted. They were either criminally complicit or grossly negligent and they all need to be held to account if only to serve as an example and a warning to the next bunch who consider abrogating their responsibilities as "public servants" as outlined in the US Constitution. This crap needs to stop and people need to be punished for what was already done.
Sigh...but who am I kidding? We can't even get the mainstream media to report on any of this because they're on board with Obama and the Democrat Party too.
Off to the ammo store to buy another case.

"Help us, government man!"
Reading the New Orleans news yesterday, I couldn't help but shake my head at the latest example of the dependency and learned helplessness that welfare create.
It seems that the powers-that-be are going to demolish a building to make way for some new development. Now this should be seen as a good thing, as it'll bring jobs, both in construction and in whatever services that the tenants of the building offer. But what do we see in the news? Residents of the nearby Iberville public housing project running around worrying about the dust from the demolition and voicing outrage that no one from the public housing authority has come around to manage this "crisis" for them.
This is pathetic. These people are grown. Their votes count as much as mine and yours. (and every one who bothers to cast a ballot will likely do so for Obama...) But here they are, upset and befuddled, with no idea what to do or how to respond to even this simple interruption of their day.
This is a prime example of the culture of dependency that big government has created, and it's what the Obama administration is trying to spread over our country, with one person and seven now receiving food stamps and with the USDA now working with the freaking Mexican government to try to get as many illegal aliens from that country to take our welfare as they can. Because the Obamaites know that people who are dependent on the government will continue to vote for the Democrats that made them dependent and accept further impositions of control over their lives from those Democrats. There's a reason why the Democrat party sends buses by the score into public housing projects around the country on election day...they know that they have a loyal base there and they're working hard to expand it because they know that it may well give them enough votes to allow them to keep control of the country despite objections from those of us who don't want their taxpayer-funded largess.
Now on another tangent, the taxpayers need to be asking why the Iberville housing project is even still around. It was condemned after being devastated by Hurricane Katrina and everyone living there was relocated by the taxpayers and given new apartments, mainly in Texas and other locations where space and local jobs were available. Yet one of the first things that then-Mayor Ray Nagin did was to divert federal money intended to help rebuild the city's infrastructure into programs designed to bring the displaced public housing residents back in time for the next election. Remember Nagin's statement that New Orleans has to remain a "Chocolate city"? He was afraid that a smaller voting pool made up largely of business owners, investors and workers might result in fewer Democrats keeping their jobs, especially after the way that his administration bungled things so badly during and after Katrina's strike. so now we have all-new welfare apartments built up to house a core Democrat constituency on some of the city's most valuable real estate right outside of the French Quarter, and it's housing many of the people who are responsible for much of the crime in the French Quarter. But the criminals, their families and other welfare recipients in the projects can be counted on to vote Dem, and the business owners and tourists in the Quarter who suffer from their presence...well most of them come from outside the city, so the don't rate serious consideration by the one-party (Dem) administration of that city.
As it stands now, that valuable land remains in service as a high-crime hot-spot that serves only to retard and inhibit meaningful economic development of that whole area. I mean, it it were my call, people relying on the taxpayers for a roof over their heads would be housed on old military bases or moved out into the country into the cheapest housing possible and the cities would be encouraged to put prime real estate like that under the Iberville projects to the best economic use on behalf of the taxpayers. But then again, that's probably why I don't get to run things.

Residents of the nearby Iberville public housing project running around worrying about the dust from the demolition and voicing outrage that no one from the public housing authority has come around to manage this "crisis" for them.
Iberville residents said on Tuesday that the little they knew about the implosion came from news reports, not from the Housing Authority of New Orleans. "I keep saying, 'When are they going to come tell us something?'" said Lanetter Dorsey, 54, who is in poor health and doesn't feel comfortable staying inside her Iberville apartment during the implosion. "I guess they've decided we need to fend for ourselves," she said.OMG! Those poor people! They might actually have to learn things from the news and make their own decisions, just like everyone else does! How mean! How cruel! Why isn't the government man coming in to tell them what to do and make everything ok? How long after the dust settles can they start filing claims for some sort of cash reimbursement to make up for all of the stress? And the worst that could ever happen to them, in their eyes, is that they have to "fend for themselves". The horror!
This is pathetic. These people are grown. Their votes count as much as mine and yours. (and every one who bothers to cast a ballot will likely do so for Obama...) But here they are, upset and befuddled, with no idea what to do or how to respond to even this simple interruption of their day.
But Iberville residents sitting inside apartments within dark-brick buildings could soon become overheated if the dust takes hours to settle. So go the F--k outside then! Leave for a few hours! Geez...how hard is that to figure out?
This is a prime example of the culture of dependency that big government has created, and it's what the Obama administration is trying to spread over our country, with one person and seven now receiving food stamps and with the USDA now working with the freaking Mexican government to try to get as many illegal aliens from that country to take our welfare as they can. Dem Congresswoman says that we don't deserve to keep all of our money
Finally, one who comes right out and says it. This from Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, Democrat from Illinois.
But here it is, folks--the defining difference between Democrats and Americans. They believe that if you earn it, they should get to decide how it gets spent and who should benefit from it, and too bad if you don't like it because they've got lawmaking ability and guns to back those laws up if you or I don't want to give up our money or any other property that they covet. And like this loon says, the only thing keeping their socialist wealth redistribution schemes from creating the perfect utopia here is that they haven't taken enough from us yet. But then that's probably pretty high on the list of things that Obama's new army of union thugs is supposed to help him with...just as soon as their matching brown shirts get here from whatever factory in China is making them.
Oh, and in case anyone wonders what sort of a steward of the public treasury Congresswoman Schakowsky is...
From Wikipedia:
Congresswoman Schakowsky was re-elected after her husband's indictment and has been re-elected three times since his conviction and sentencing.
Those Illinois voters sure can pick 'em, can't they, America?
“I’ll put it this way. You don’t deserve to keep all of it and it’s not a question of deserving because what government is, is those things that we decide to do together. And there are many things that we decide to do together like have our national security. Like have police and fire. What about the people that work at the National Institute of Health who are looking for a cure for cancer,” Schakowsky said.Well first of all, National Security is a Constitutional mandate--one of the few things that the federal government was specifically tasked with--so no one argues that. But that expense is dwarfed by a spending on things that aren't Constitutionally-mandated or even authorized...like "police and fire" which are local government responsibilities, and even that National Institute of Health, whose "cancer research" is duplicated and far surpassed by universities and private pharmaceutical companies, each of whom has plenty of motivation to cure cancer and numerous other diseases.
Schakowsky also says one reason the 2009 stimulus bill did not succeed was because it was not large enough.
Oh, and in case anyone wonders what sort of a steward of the public treasury Congresswoman Schakowsky is...
From Wikipedia:
On March 11, 2004, Schakowsky's husband, lobbyist Robert Creamer, the executive director of the Illinois Public Action Fund, was indicted in federal court on 16 counts of bank fraud involving three alleged check-kiting schemes in the mid-1990s, leading several banks to experience shortfalls of at least $2.3 million. In August 2005, Creamer pleaded guilty to one count of failure to collect withholding tax, and bank fraud for writing checks with insufficient funds. All of the money was repaid. Schakowsky was not accused of any wrongdoing. Schakowsky served on the organization's board during the time the crimes occurred, and Schakowsky signed the IRS filings along with her husband. U.S. District Judge James B. Moran noted no one suffered "out of pocket losses," and Creamer acted not out of greed but in an effort to keep his community action group going without cutting programs, though Creamer paid his own $100,000 salary with fraudulently obtained funds. On April 5, 2006, Creamer was sentenced to five months in prison and 11 months of house arrest.
Congresswoman Schakowsky was re-elected after her husband's indictment and has been re-elected three times since his conviction and sentencing.

Ah, civility. Dems encourage terroristic acts at Congressman's home.
This must be that new civility that Obama was talking about.
Democrat Party activists are now encouraging people to take their garbage and dump it at Congressman Boehner's house.
Seems to me that they should be dumping it at Harry Reid's house, or at the White House. After all, the Republican House has actually passed a budget. The Senate just refuses to go along with it because it doesn't spend enough of our money.
And I have a real problem with the idea that it's ok to go to someone's house and stalk and harass them there just to play political games. I wouldn't support it at Reid's house either, even though he's the one who is really responsible for the impending government shutdown. This sort terroristic intimidation is way over the line under any circumstances and I hope that arrests are made and convictions follow if any such actions take place.
But even worse is the fact that this isn't just angry citizens planning and promoting this. The two main organizers of the event, Jonah Goodman and Nolan Treadway, are paid operatives for the Democratic Party. Goodman is a staff member of the Democratic National Committee and Treadway is the political and logistics director for the liberal group Netroots Nation. In other words, they're Obama's henchmen, doing exactly what Obama has publicly called for an end to.
Seems to me that it would only be right for Obama and Harry Reid to show up and personally clean up any garbage that their minions throw out at Congressman Boehner's house. And every Democrat and supporter of that party needs to be ashamed that their once-great party has sunk so low as to resort to stuff like this.

And every Democrat and supporter of that party needs to be ashamed that their once-great party has sunk so low as to resort to stuff like this.

REAL Leadership: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker
Sometimes one man can make a difference.
Newly elected based in large part on his promise to get Wisconsin's bloated budget under control, Wisconsin's Governor, Scott Walker, stood up to the over-paid public employees of that state and told them that they were going to have to pay part of their own retirement (like most Americans do) and play by a new set of rules designed to stop their annual shakedowns of the public for more loot from the treasury by refusing en masse to do the jobs that they applied for and agreed to do.
Now the unions are powerful in that state. They own the Democrat Party both locally and nationally. (Actually they split it with the trial lawyers like some sort of corruption time-share.) So when Walker proposed these new rules for public employees--our employees--and when it appeared that they were going to pass through the new post-Obama, Republican-majority legislature, the unions told their Dem lackeys to abandon their posts and shirk their obligations and run off to hide, basically stopping ALL of the people's business until pressure could be brought to bear to force the governor and others to give them their way.
Well Governor Walker held fast. He wasn't swayed by protests made up of teachers who were fraudulently calling in sick to picket on the people's dime. He wasn't swayed by busload after busload of union thugs from other states showing up to scream, or college kids who don't even have jobs arrogantly telling reporters that this is their fight too. He ordered the Democrats to return to work, and when they refused, he had the bills that they were trying to block re-written so as to not require a full quorum and passed them without those work-skipping union sock-puppets even being there.
Hoo-RAH! Now that's leadership--doing the right thing even when it's hard, just because it's right.
Wisconsin won yesterday, and all of America wins as well. Anything that takes smacks union hands out of the public cookie jar is good for the country. If you want to be in a union and threaten strikes and slowdowns to extort more money from your employers even though you do crap work, then go to one of the Big Three auto companies. But if you want the security and stability of a government job, then you need to take what's offered to you by the people who pay the taxes and their elected officials and be grateful for what you're handed.
The unions and the Democrats both got their asses handed to them by Governor Walker, and life is better for everyone else as a result.

Neener, neener!
Hey, you remember David Kernell, that punk kid who hacked Governor Palin's e-mail account during the 2008 presidential elections and bragged about it until he got caught? If you recall, he was the sheltered and spoiled son of Tennessee State Representative Mike Kernell, a Democrat, of course.
Well after being convicted of a felony out of that case, he caught a break in the form of liberal U.S. District Judge Thomas Phillips, who sentenced him to an incredibly lenient one day less than a year in prison. The judge's goal was obviously to keep young David out of the prison system (because a sentence of more than a year would mandate incarceration) and in that vein, he also recommended that the federal Bureau of Prisons send him to a half-way house so that he could keep going to school and doing what other non-incarcerated college kids do.
However, the Bureau of Prisons declined, sending him to a real albeit minimum-security facility instead. In a rare written explanation, BOP Chief Jose Santana told the judge that he could not do so because the half-way houses are set up to help recidivism-prone inmates with limited social or job skills transition back into society, and that it would be wrong to deny one of these needy inmates that help just to give this coddled kid an easy ride. Santana's letter said, in relevant part:
So despite the best efforts of his dad's influential network of friends and connections--a network which apparently includes a district judge named Phillips, little David's going to actually pay a penalty for his efforts to disrupt and undermine a national presidential election.
I'm happy. Careful bending over for that soap, David!

“Our agency contracts (halfway house) bed space for inmates who have a greater need … such as those with limited job skills/resources and family and community support,” Santana wrote. “Mr. Kernell has attended three years of college and has the support of his family.”The bureau instead sent Kernell, 22, to a minimum-security facility in Ashland, Ky.

Demented Dem shows his love for "the little guy"
Do you believe this guy? Whack job Congressman and failed presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich,(D)--Crazyville, bought a wrap from the House cafeteria back in 2008. He claims that there was an olive pit in the wrap, which rendered it "unfit for human consumption". He further claims that said olive pit hurt one of his teeth. So this guy--a guy who makes $174,000 a year AND gets free dental care courtesy of the US taxpayers--is trying to sue the cafeteria contractor and pretty much everyone who ever had anything to do with making or selling that wrap. He's demanding $150,000 for "current and future dental expenses" even though he gets free lifetime dental care, and for "pain, suffering, and loss of enjoyment".
Does he care this this suit takes money out of the pockets of all of those "little people" that he and his party claim to represent? Obviously not. All he really cares about, apparently, is enriching himself by any means, even if it takes food off the tables of many people who will never land a cush job like he's got...one where he gets paid mad money and gets lifetime medical and dental care (none of that "Obamacare" crap for him) just for showing up most days.
$150K. Just because he bought an olive sandwich with an olive in it. Half of me hopes that he never orders a fish dinner lest he find a fishbone in his meal. The other half of me hopes that he does and chokes on that fishbone.
What a scumbag. No wonder that neither he or his lawyer are willing to answer questions about this suit. Dennis Kucinich is a poster boy for the old saying about us getting the government that we deserve.
Wait--that's not correct. The losers in Ohio may deserve the guy, but I sure don't. How about you?

Cats get it, Democrats don't.
So We're two weeks into "Operation Pop-a-Cat" and I can report more success than I expected. It seems that the neighbor's feral cats have learned that they don 't like being pegged with airsoft pellets and they've figured out that if they come over on our property, they're likely to get popped with one. When I started this, there were literally more cats in my yard than I could shoot at, and they just looked at me with disdain when I stepped out my door. But now, two weeks later, they're scarce, and the ones that I do see over here staking out my bird feeders take off like lightning as soon as they hear my door open. The result is that I'm already seeing more birds on the feeders and more squirrels on the ground. I prefer either to those nasty cats, so it seems as if this operation's working well.
That aside, it's also good shooting practice and a lot of fun to zero in on the cats and whack 'em. It doesn't hurt them but it's sure unpleasant (for the cat) and it never gets old to lay a hit on a cat half way across the yard or even clean down by the road and hear that "Mrowr!" as they take off running. But fun as it is, I rarely seem to get a shot at the same cat more than once or twice. Frankly I'm surprised that the cats have figured out what's going on as quick as they have, but it it keeps the little rocket scientists off my land, I'm good with it.
In other news, the Democrats are poised to re-elect Nancy Pelosi to lead them in the next Congress, and she's going around claiming that her party didn't take a historic drubbing because of her or her policies.
How is it there cats get get it enough to change their ways when you punish them but Democrats don't? Are cats smarter than Democrats?
On second thought, don't even bother answering that.

Hey Steve Kagen--we kicked your ass.
Hey everyone...remember Wisconsin Democrat Steve Kagen? He was the guy who bragged about how, right after he got elected, he trapped Karl Rove in a men's room and boasted about "kicking his ass" following the Dems' sweep into control of the House four years ago. He also bragged about deliberately disrespecting Laura Bush by calling her "Barbara". He later bragged about how it was his intention to insult her and her husband by doing so.
I wrote about it here. The guy just got elected to high office and instead of behaving like a statesman, he ran around acting like an undisciplined 6th grader and then bragged about it repeatedly as if he expected Wisconsin voters to be proud of him.
Well Kagen--the punk extraordinaire--just got his own ass kicked by those voters and he's on his way back to the private sector after being trounced by Republican Reid Ribble Tuesday night.
Kagen's defeat follows that of Florida's Alan Grayson, another buffoon famous for a whole host of loutish actions such as his statement, made on the floor of the House of Representatives, that the Republicans’ plan to save some money in Medicare was to request that seniors die quickly. Even his own party members were embarrassed (just not enough to censure him).
These victories of civility and maturity over crassness will serve as a good start in the effort towards bringing respectability back to the House.

Just doing jobs that Americans won't do.
Yep. Illegal aliens in our country are now doing something that few Americans seem to want to do: campaigning for Washington Senator Patty Murray.
Proving how out of touch she is with Americans, most of whom want the illegals sent home, Murray's campaign actually puts them to work on her re-election effort, trying to convince other minorities--those who are lawfully here and actually entitled to vote--to vote for her.
Sorry, but I have a real problem with people who aren't even supposed to be here now trying to directly steer our country's political system by working for politicians who are perceived to be ready and willing to offer Amnesty bills in return. That to me is the ultimate "foreign interest" seeking to influence a legislator.
So where are all of the pundits and shills who screamed for a week over California Gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman's having once employed a maid who later turned out to be illegal despite having offered fraudulent documents and swearing that she was, in fact, legally here?
Again, since this time it's a Democrat doing the wrong thing, I doubt that we'll be hearing very much about it at all. The media has their own agenda--protecting the Democrat majority--and reporting news like this doesn't advance that so they'll self-censor and work to deny America the facts.
Note to you media hacks...we're seeing this and we're not going to forget. Your credibility doesn't automatically come back post-election.
Oh, and someone please tell the illegal not to refer to the American political system as "ours". That's like a catching a burglar in your house and having him say that he's just taking "our" flat-screen TV out to be cleaned.
Time for ICE to raid Patty Murray's office.
Proving how out of touch she is with Americans, most of whom want the illegals sent home, Murray's campaign actually puts them to work on her re-election effort, trying to convince other minorities--those who are lawfully here and actually entitled to vote--to vote for her.
SEATTLE -- When Maria Gianni is knocking on voters' doors, she's not bashful about telling people she is in the country illegally. She knows it's a risk to advertise to strangers that she's here illegally -- but one worth taking in what she sees as a crucial election.
The 42-year-old is one of dozens of volunteers -- many of them illegal immigrants -- canvassing neighborhoods in the Seattle area trying to get naturalized citizens to cast a ballot for candidates like Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, who is in a neck-to-neck race with Republican Dino Rossi.
Pramila Jayapal, head of OneAmerica Votes, says the campaign is about empowering immigrants who may not feel like they can contribute to a campaign because they can't vote.
"Immigrants really do matter," Jayapal said. "If we can't vote ourselves, we're gonna knock on doors, or get family members to vote."
Seattle is home to a wide array of immigrant communities, from Latinos to east Africans and Asians.
Congress declined this year to consider overhauling the country's immigration law
, much to the chagrin of immigrant advocates who had expected Democrats to do so by now.
Still, OneAmerica Votes launched one of the largest get-out-the-vote campaigns in the state on behalf of Democratic candidates. The organization is an offshoot of OneAmerica, one of the state's largest and the most influential immigrant-rights advocacy group.
Through home visits, phone banks and mailings the organization is aiming to reach about 40,000 registered voters in the Seattle area in an attempt to help Democrats gain ground in key races. Volunteers include other types of people who can't vote, such as legal permanent residents.
About 150 volunteers rolled out in nine cities across Washington this past week, knocking on 3,000 doors.
In Bellevue, a city of nearly 123,000 east of Seattle, Gianni knocked on 25 doors and spoke to 15 people, she said.
One man, a naturalized citizen from the Philippines, said he knew what she was going through after she shared she was in the country illegally.
"There's always a risk," Gianni said in Spanish about her legal status. "But if there's a change, I would feel like I contributed, even in a small part, to a change we all need."
Gianni arrived in the United States on a visa 13 years ago looking for work and stayed. For a while her only son lived here, but has since moved back to Mexico.
"In order for there to be a change to our broken immigration system," she said, "I believe one has to fight."
Sorry, but I have a real problem with people who aren't even supposed to be here now trying to directly steer our country's political system by working for politicians who are perceived to be ready and willing to offer Amnesty bills in return. Michigan Senator Carl Levin gets pied.
You can't make this us.
Carl Levin, one of the most liberal, far-left members of the Senate, was attacked by an even more liberal, farther-left moonbat this morning at a public meeting in Big Rapids, Michigan.
So along come these two cretins. Ignorant of the fact that Levin is solidly on their side, they hit him with a pie then run away and wind up getting stopped and arrested down the road. And now Ahlam (and out of curiosity, what sort of a name is "Ahlam"?) is in jail, properly charged with Assault. I'm no fan of Senator Levin (and haven't been since he had me tossed out of one of his town halls back in the 1980's for accidentally referring to him as "Senator Lenin" via an unintended Freudian slip) but assaults on public speakers are unacceptable conduct no matter who the target it. Here's hoping that Michigan State has some stones and expels her, and ditto for Ferris State and the other loon.
UPDATE: Turns out these two have been arrested for harassing Levin before, apparently on behalf of Hamas. Can you say "jihadist stalkers"? Lagniappe says that Levin might want to reconsider his lifelong opposition to gun ownership and learn to use a pistol.
Carl Levin, one of the most liberal, far-left members of the Senate, was attacked by an even more liberal, farther-left moonbat this morning at a public meeting in Big Rapids, Michigan.
The Democrat from Detroit was speaking to members of the Mecosta County Democratic Party when a young man -- who described himself as a student -- began chastising Levin for his work on the Senate Armed Services Committee, which helps direct military and war policy.Had these two fools done their homework they'd have figured out that the only reason that Levin has sat on the Senate Armed Services Committee all these years is to obstruct military planning and readiness, to kill vital weapons systems and force the closure of bases that we still need, and to be able to pry into and meddle with classified operations. He's never been a friend of the military or a supporter of our troops--he's always fought to make their jobs harder.
After a few minutes of speaking at Pepper's Café and Deli, a woman who accompanied the student to the event walked up to Levin and hit him in the face with a pie, a source with Levin's office confirmed.
Big Rapids Police arrested the woman on assault and battery charges.
The Big Rapids Pioneer newspaper reported the woman's name as Ahlam Mohsen, a 23-year-old senior at Michigan State University; and her friend who instigated the incident with Levin as Max Kantar, 23. MSU lists Mohsen as a student, while Kantar attends Ferris State University.

Enough already!
About a month ago, I penned my disgust for the media's unending coverage of no-talent train-wreck Lindsay Lohan and her never-ending drama. My theory was (and still is) that the media moguls choose to bury us under this stuff every day to keep us from noticing and disapproving of Obama and the Democrats' bungling and corruption.
It's a sound theory and I'll stand by it. It's undisputed that almost every media outlet in America was an unbiased Obama supporter during the last election and now they're trying to distract us from his failings in a lame attempt to save what little of their own credibility they have left.
And now, with TWO Democrats--Rangel and Waters--facing ethics trials and the Gulf oil spill still not cleaned up, the media is trying extra hard to push the negative (for Dems) news off of the front page by giving us not just Lindsay Loser but another freak named Snooki.
Again, I don't want to know about these people. I don't want my brain to be filled with anything about them. I try to avoid it, but every single news source seems to want to shove this crap in our faces 24/7. Lindsay and Snooki; Snooki and Lindsay. Watch them cry, fight, get drunk, fall down, puke and go to jail. Why would I want to watch this? I've had more than one ex-girlfriend who could (and did) do this stuff with monotonous regularity. (And I loved them all for it.)
But the media...they want us to watch this so we won't notice Obama's failings or the fact that about every third Democrat in Congress (Rangel, Waters, Kerry, Sestak and others too numerous to list here)is having some sort of an ethical problem just three months before we vote on keeping them around. It's the old "Hey, look at those drunk chicks instead of our economy!" distraction.
Well I've had more than enough of it, and more than enough of Lindsay Lohan and Snooki, too.
So I propose one last big media event--one certain to please and amuse most of America: A knife fight--to the death--between Lindsay and Snooki. It'll be live on pay-per-view, and the rules are simple: Both get locked in a cage and only one comes out, but not until the other has assumed room temperature permanently. I don't even care which one wins, because the real winner will be the American public as there will be 50% less useless drama thrust into our faces disguised as "news" after this fight's over.
Oh, and the survivor? She has to follow Barack Obama around everywhere he goes for the next three months, thus ensuring that the whole world will see everything that he says and does between now and the next election.
Am I a genius, or what?

When morons elect one of their own...
It's often said that America gets the leadership that it deserves. But dammit, I don't deserve a lazy fool like Al Franken (D)--MN, and neither do most of the readers here or the honest hard-working people of red-state America.
Sadly, this is more proof of my theory that some segments of this country just can't be trusted with the vote.
He's good enough, he's smart enough, but doggone it — he just can't keep his eyes open for Senate confirmation hearings. Thanks Minnesota, you morons. You've made sure that any important decisions that we as a country need to be make will be made based in part not by logic or historical knowledge but just by a whim of a lackadaisical and disinterested buffoon.
Al Franken, the onetime comedian and current Democratic senator from Minnesota, used his position on the vaunted Judiciary Committee on Tuesday to doodle a lifelike bust of Sen. Jeff Sessions, the committee's ranking Republican, as Sessions raked Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan over the coals.
But it wasn't all fun and games for the former "Saturday Night Live" star — Franken also found time to get in a good nap during the first day of hearings Monday.
Live video from Senate chambers shows a woozy Franken getting some much-needed shuteye as Kagan explains her intellectual approach to life and teachings in her opening statement to the Senate.
But Franken, the most junior member of the Judiciary Committee, had already been forced to sit through an endless round of statements from his senior colleagues on the 19-member panel as they droned on and on and on in the crowded Washington chamber.
When it finally came time for Kagan herself to speak, Franken had apparently had enough.
"I've learned that we make progress by listening to each other," said Kagan hopefully, as Franken slowly closed his eyes and appeared to doze off.
"I've learned that we come closest to getting things right when we approach every person and every issue with an open mind," she said, Franken now apparently lost to the living.
Kagan herself has expressed a profound scorn for Senate confirmation hearings, which she described as empty "lessons of cynicism" — a "vapid and hollow charade" that replace important legal discussions with repetitive platitudes.
It is unclear whether Franken shares that sentiment about the hearings or was simply bored by the proceedings. Sen. Franken's office did not return calls or e-mails seeking comment.
Sadly, this is more proof of my theory that some segments of this country just can't be trusted with the vote.

One loser gone, and a new one to watch in November
I'm sorry for not gloating over this earlier, but Adam Kokesh, the punk ex-Marine and former Cindy Sheehan cohort was defeated in his primary election as he attempted to win nomination to a Republican House seat in New Mexico. Good riddance to bad rubbish, because he was never a Conservative or a Republican despite his sudden change of colors from a screaming leftist anti-war/anti-Bush protester into a Ron Paul clone. He was a bad joke in any guise and he needs to just go away now that he's been rejected by the people of New Mexico despite the support of raving but oh-so-gullible Paulites from around the country.
In other news, a total loon from the Lyndon LaRouche wing of the Democrat Party has nabbed the Dems' primary nomination for the 22nd District in Texas, the seat currently held by freshman Republican Pete Olson. Her name is Kesha Rogers.
Just like the case of Alvin Greene in South Carolina, ignorant and uninformed Democrats flocked to the polls like lemmings and selected a candidate that they apparently knew nothing about. How else could anyone explain their electing a woman whose campaign slogan is ""I'll take our troops out of Afghanistan and put them into space."
I'm guessing that they also didn't know that she's likened Obama to Hitler and publicly called for his impeachment.

Once again we see what happens when stupid people are allowed to vote.
Again, I'm thinking that we need some sort of test on the candidates and issues--or IQ tests--before people are given a ballot. Granted this would likely eliminate the Democratic Party by barring much of their base on election day, but it's either that or we risk national destruction by continuing to let ignoramuses steer our ship of state. Wasn't Obama's election itself a large enough wake-up call?
Hell, I'm sending a small donation to both Greene and Rogers just to help them tear the Dems apart from inside their own party. If they're going to make it so easy and so entertaining, who am I not to help out?

"People too Stupid to be Allowed to Vote" award winner: Gail Westerfield
With the election of unemployed moron Alvin Greene to the US Senate race in the State of South Carolina with 60% of the vote despite his not even campaigning, many people are asking how that could possibly have happened. The answer is sadly simple: Idiots like Gail Westerfield.
“I voted for him because his name sounded like the singer and I’d never heard of Vic Rawl,” Gail Westerfield of Beaufort, South Carolina said. “I didn’t have name recognition– so I went with the person who had the most…famous name. It’s so bad.”
“I had just never heard of either of these guys and it never occurred to me that anything like this could happen or my vote and that this other person I was with who shall go nameless that our votes would contribute to South Carolina being the butt of a joke again. I mean, I feel terrible about it. I mean, we’re rivaling Florida now for the ridiculousness. I don’t feel good about being a part of that,” she said.
No, Gail, there's not really much of a valid comparison between a bunch of people who couldn't figure out a butterfly ballot (Democrat voters in Florida in 2000) but at least tried to cast a somewhat-informed vote with bona-fide retards like you who never bothered to learn fact one about either candidate but still felt the need to go to a polling place and cast a vote because one of them sounded similar to an R&B singer.
Seriously, I'd say "Gee, you're dumb" but I'm betting that you've been hearing that a lot your whole life, haven't you? People as stupid as you should not be allowed to vote or reproduce, Gail.
And on a macro scale, it's ignorant, uninformed voters like Gail Westerfield that foul up elections all over our country these days. With people like Gail Westerfield voting in larger numbers every election, I sincerely doubt that our Constitutionally-limited Republic will be able to survive the onslaught of careless/clueless democracy for much longer.
Heck, just look what we got for President in 2008. Anyone want to guess who Gail Westerfield voted for?
Anyone?
Bueller?
Anyone?
