23 hippies arrested in Denver--the names.

Well denver's dirty hippies wanted to protest and make a statement, so me being a nice guy, I'm helping 23 of them out by making sure that a record remains of their names and arrests long after the Denver Post takes the story down. This should give them reason to be proud for some time to come and it should also assist any potential future employers or dates. I know that if I were hiring employees, these folks could just forget about filling out an application for any position that I'd need mature, responsible people for, and God help them if one came around trying to date my son, daughter, sister, etc,.

According to Denver Police and Denver County court records, the 23 people listed below were arrested when law enforcement evicted participants in the Occupy Denver movement on Oct. 14. Most were charged, given a court date, and released with no bond assigned.

There they are, folks. Twenty-three losers who have absolutely no reason for even existing. While everyone around them is getting up and going to work every day, these losers are just lounging around in their own filth and contributing exactly nothing to society.

The article doesn't report if the hippies were bathed, shaved and given flea dips, but for the sake of the police that had to handle them and the community in general, one can only hope so.

BTW, Caryn...Forty-six years old and still getting arrested by the police? You're not an idealistic kid any more, sweetie. And that's probably why you had to post a cash bond. That's society's way of suggesting that it's time for you to grow up.

And any other bloggers out there, I'd encourage you to follow suit any time you see the name of any of these dirtbag hippies appearing in print following an arrest. If they want to make a public statement so bad, let's be decent and help them own it.

Thug woman in Denver follows in her husband's footsteps.

Detra Farries sits in jail in Denver, Colorado at this moment, and rightfully so. Farries is accused of hopping into her SUV and driving off as a tow truck driver tried to remove it from an apartment complex where it had been illegally parked for an extended period without license plates. In the process, the tow truck driver was dragged for over a mile and killed. Several people tried to stop Farries, but she just kept going as the man screamed. When the tow truck driver--a married father of two and an Iraqi war vet--finally came disengaged from the SUV, Farries quickly made a U-turn across the median and sped away. However the police found her shortly thereafter.

And here's Farries' MySpace page. Aside from the fact that all of her "friends" seem to be relishing the thug/gangster lifestyle, it's also noteworthy that she's a big Obama fan and supporter.

I guess that like Peggy, she thought that Obama was going to pay her car note, but apparently he didn't because it was also apparently subject to a repossession notice, which is probably why the license plates had been removed--so the repo people couldn't find it as easily.

Oh, and adding to the "just plain wrong" of this case, her husband is Terroll Farries Jr.. He's currently in prison for hitting and killing a 51-year-old Denver woman then driving away and hiding his vehicle back in December, 2009. And after his sentencing, she actually wrote in to the newspaper to defend her husband and blamed the victim for walking in front of him! I guess that depravity and a lack of conscience is something that the two of them have in common and I hope that she gets more than the four years that her husband got.

Mitch Cowley needs to be hit with a baseball bat

He really does.

It all began when retiree Gary Yourtz paid $1.1 million for a house in Denver's Belcaro neighborhood and pulled a demolition permit, planning to build his dream house at 825 S. Adams Street. Gary liked the neighborhood, but didn't want the old house, built back in 1958. He planned to raze the old one and build a new one, an act which would have increased his property's value and helped prop up the neighborhood's property values.

But this was all halted abruptly when a drive-by jack-ass by the name of Mitch Cowley decided that he didn't want Yourtz to tear down his own house because Cowley, who doesn't even live in the neighborhood--or in Denver--claimed that he likes to drive by and look at the house. He and Susan Livingston (who at least does live in the neighborhood) filed a $250 application to have Yourtz' house declared a historically-significant building, putting the demolition on hold.

The result? Yourtz had to hire an attorney and pay almost $18,000 in legal fees to fight this fight, only to have Cowley just shrug and withdraw the application on the night before it was supposed to go before the City Council for a determination.

Now Yourtz is still out the money. And Cowley? he and his pal Livingston are free and clear and not liable to repay a penny to Yourtz.

"I was just trying to draw a line in the sand because this has been going on too long," Cowley said. "Just because someone owns something doesn't give them the ultimate right. They are removing homes of substance and replacing them with no substance."

Yes, Mitch. Ownership of property gives people the ultimate right. This specifically includes the right to remove a house that you like and replace it with one that they like. If you felt so strongly about this house, why didn't you buy it when it was on the market?
Seriously, if you'd pulled that crap with me, I'd be taking that $18K out of your ass with a Louisville Slugger.

Now if I was Yourtz I'd probably be working up a comprehensive plan to make both Cowley's and Livingston's lives miserable. It would become my new hobby and I'd devote time to it each and every day. You see, these two are the epitome of the modern Liberal; they are driven by the unshakable belief that they know better than you or I what is best for us and the community around us. And like most Liberals, these two are just going to go through life messing with other people and trying to punish us all for not living the way that they want us to until someone makes them pay a cost for the trouble that they cause.

Denver Police have sense of humor...Liberals, as usual, do not.

So following the invasion of the City of Denver by the hordes of unwashed suburban white kids who came to vandalize the city and assault people under the guise of "protesting" during the recent Democratic National Convention, the Denver Police Protective Association, the union which represents the hard-working officers of that city, came out with this humorous T-shirt, which they gave to members of the department and are now selling for $10.00.

The front of the black shirt shows the number 68 with a slash through it. One of the primary protest groups at last month's DNC in Denver was the Re-create 68 Alliance, harking back to the violent 1968 political convention in Chicago.

The back of the shirt features a menacing police figure, wearing what looks like a Denver police badge and helmet and clutching a baton. He's looming over the city of Denver along with the slogan, "WE GET UP EARLY, to BEAT the crowds." Also written on the back is "2008 DNC."

There were 154 protesters arrested during the August convention; many were taken into custody following a Monday night melee with police along 15th Street.

Re-create 68 organizer Glenn Spagnuolo calls the shirt appalling and tasteless.

Spagnuolo said Thursday that members of the police union "clearly have no respect for the rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution."

The Denver police detective who produced the shirts, Nick Rogers, says he has received no complaints until now. He said the shirts are being sold for $10 each at the Police Protective Association offices.

Of course the liberals--the same people who claim to support the First Amendment (when it applies to them)--are screaming mad. The same creeps and cretins who spent hours bagging up their own feces and urine to throw at police officers and convention attendees are now accusing the DPPA and Denver officers of (gasp!) behaving inappropriately. The Rocky Mountain News website is filling fast with outraged posts from assorted losers who liken the shirt to nazism and claim that this is why they don't respect the police.
(Hey dirt-bag, we know why you don't respect the police, and it's because your parents never lit your little ass up and taught you to respect authority. But that's for another article.)

Now these shirts are a pretty good example of police humor, and they're actually pretty mild compared to some of the stuff that's out there in the LE community. And liberal/cop-hater histrionics aside, it's nothing more than a few of America's finest unwinding and having a bit of harmless fun. If it bothers you, you probably need to get a grip.

My guess is that if you want one of these shirts, you can probably get one through the DPPA's store, accessed via this website. I know I'm getting one, for no reason other than to show my support for a bunch of brothers in blue who handled a tough task well by keeping order while exercising remarkable restraint.

"After the Democratic National Convention ends, there will be hundreds of marijuana cases all showing up at the same time,"

Well that title's not my opinion. It's a quote from a pothead and spokesman for the "legalize drugs" movement named Mason Tvert. Apparently he knows a thing or two about the sort of people who will be showing up in Denver for the Democratic National Convention. And considering that most of them think that either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton would be the best leader for America, I can't say that I doubt him.

Anyone who thinks that has to be smoking something.

But actually the story is about how a bunch of stoners and drug abusers in Denver have asked Denver's City Council to make the police lay off from arresting drug users during the convention. Tvert, leader of the group Safer Alternative For Enjoyable Recreation, said the city's policy requires that people busted for narcotics possession to show up in court, and he warns that this could clog the court system. "After the Democratic National Convention ends, there will be hundreds of marijuana cases all showing up at the same time," Tvert said.

Apparently they're conceding that the average dope user cannot control him/herself well enough to keep from toking up in public, and I guess that they fear that if enough of them get arrested before Obama's coronation, there'll be a bunch of empty seats in the auditorium and that'll look bad on TV.

Tvert apparently wants a big cloud of pot smoke over the convention. He says that conventioneers will be consuming large amounts of alcohol and they should have an alternative.

Well I suppose that if I was so down on America that all I could think to do was vote Democrat, I'd probably want to get drunk or high and stay that way too. Fortunately I'm much better than that. Not saying that I'll vote for McCain--I don't intend to--but I'd set myself on fire before supporting a nightmare like Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, Denver police aren't caving in to the druggies. Lt. Ernie Martinez, representing Denver police, said police will have bigger priorities during the convention, but police won't give up their authority.

"If something occurs in front of us, we're going to act," Martinez said.

Heck, bring in dope dogs from around the country and send every drug-possessing criminal down to bunk in tents with Sheriff Joe Arpaio . That'll go a long ways toward making Denver nicer and safer for the law-abiding residents. But it'd sure put a hell of a dent in the convention. Aside from the crippling blow to the junk food vendors, I suspect that if all the drug users in Denver got locked up, there'd only be a couple dozen Democrats left.

Way to go, Denver!

Finally some good news out of Denver, Colorado.

A Denver ballot measure that would require police to seize cars from unlicensed drivers appeared to be passing, according to late returns.

Another ballot measure that would streamline ballot initiatives also appeared to be passing.

Initiative 100, which would force the owner of the vehicle to post a $2,500 bond to get a vehicle back, was leading by a 5-to-4 ratio with about 21 percent of the vote counted.

"I'm shocked, what with the mayor, the city council and the council of churches against it," said Daniel Hayes, a Jefferson County resident who led the initiative. "I'm elated."

The ballot measure singled out illegal immigrants and drew the opposition of Mayor John Hickenlooper, who said it would be a drain on city resources.

Hayes said he hopes the initiative will serve as a "springboard" for a statewide ballot measure. He maintained that it didn't target illegal immigrants.

"It's targeting people driving without a driver's license," he said. "But I think there's a lot of illegals driving without a license."

Note that this had to be done by the citizens at a grass-roots level because the Mayor and 10 of 11 City Council members were opposed, as were both of Denver's major newspapers. Mailings were sent out by so-called "Immigrant Rights" groups (how is driving without a license somehow a "right"?) and a major ad campaign was mounted to try to stop this from passing, but the citizens who drafted and supported it managed to win with little more than word-of-mouth networking and communicating via blogs. It definitely proves that the people CAN make a difference and take control of the reins of government when those that they elect and entrust with the job refuse to listen.

While this measure really was targeted at illegal alien drivers (and how is that a bad thing?) it also takes the cars of people who lose their licenses for DUI or bad driving records, and as these people are almost always driving without insurance, we're all better off with all of these people off our roads.

Next steps: Make this statewide, or even nation-wide. To paraphrase a great man, "Unlicensed, uninsured drivers anywhere are a threat to public safety everywhere."

Another day, another loser checks out...and takes two others with him.

So here are the police, setting up a typical DUI checkpoint in Denver over the week-end and making a real effort to get drunk drivers off our roads.

Along comes James Thomas at about 1:30 AM on Saturday morning. He's got a carload of teenagers and probably more than a little alcohol in his system. He gets stopped by the checkpoint, but then apparently panics and speeds off, crashes and kills himself and two young girls.

The driver of a car involved in a high-speed crash Saturday that killed three had fled a Denver police DUI checkpoint moments before the wreck.

James Thomas, 22, stopped at the checkpoint near Park Avenue west near the interstate, then sped away in his 2004 Subaru Impreza, said Denver police spokesman John White. "At some point the driver pulled out and fled and ultimately the fatal accident occurred."

Thomas and his girlfriend, Daniella Devores, 20, and Melissa Burns, 18, ied in the accident.

Police didn't pursue Thomas.

Nicholas Palmer, 19, f Broomfield, who was also in the car, remained in critical condition Monday at Denver Health Medical Center.

This is WHY we have DUI checkpoints. Because drunk drivers ARE out there, and because they routinely do stupid and dangerous stuff. Not only are their physical abilities impaired, but so is their decision-making. James Thomas just proved that in a pretty undeniable fashion. His choice, so no tears there, but as so often happens, someone else has to pay for the drunk's stupid decisions too.

Denver citizens try to help police, but Denver City Council objects

No surprise, since Denver, Colorado is one of the most prominent "sanctuary cities" where illegal aliens are considered welcome additions to the community no matter how they act or what they do.

The issue here is a citizen-driven ballot initiative that says that the police will impound any car being driven in Denver streets by someone without a license. Now if this law was only used to take cars from people who lost their licenses due to drunk driving convictions or bad driving records, there wouldn't be a problem with that. But the City Council--the ones who are supposed to reflect the will of their constituents--and several church groups have banded together to oppose this measure because they fear that it will take cars from illegal aliens since illegal aliens cannot get driver's licenses in Colorado.

According to this article on the issue, Denver Police report that as many as four cars in ten--40%--that they stop are driven by unlicensed--and uninsured--drivers.
When one of those people hits you or a member of your family, well you're just out of luck because there's no money for medical bills, lost wages, car repairs...nothing.

Still, pro-illegal Denver Councilman Paul Lopez says that this law is unnecessary because "it's already illegal to drive without a license". He says that 20,000 people were given tickets for this in 2007.

Well big deal, Paul. What does a ticket do to an illegal alien who more likely than not just gave the officer a fictitious name as illegals typically do? Sure, that ticket might actually stick to an American whose identity the police can actually confirm, but when an illegal gives a fake name or presents a phony ID card, that ticket is meaningless as he or she will never show up in court and you have no real idea about who they were. This is a common problem for law enforcement in areas with large numbers of illegal aliens and it creates a system where illegal aliens aren't punished for anything unless they actually do something serious enough to get them jailed. Tickets and citations requiring them to appear in court just get thrown away.

But this measure would remedy that, because the car being driven by the illegal would be impounded and could only be retrieved by a licensed driver who has to post a cash bond to get the car out. If the car is driven again within a year by another unlicensed driver, that bond is forfeited, otherwise it's returned. A measure like this has the ability to do what it's backers intend--reduce the number of unlicensed drivers--both citizens and illegal aliens--by hitting them with a heavy sanction that is fairly applied across the board. It's targeted at every unlicensed driver regardless of their citizenship status or the reason that they are unlicensed. It's just a shame that the Denver City Council and a few church groups--groups that shouldn't even be commenting on public policy--are objecting to this common-sense initiative only because it might impact the illegal alien community.

But the faith leaders and Denver advocates of immigrant rights said they were coming together to defeat a "discriminatory initiative that violates the values and principles held in common by Denver's religious communities."

Now since when are the values of the religious community supposed to be reflected in public policy? It's interesting that there are numerous church leaders weighing in on this and urging that the initiative be defeated, yet none of the usual anti-Christian liberal left is objecting to church involvement in this state matter. Of course the liberals never mind if candidates for elected office campaign in churches, so long as those candidates are Democrats. No, the only church-state connection that the church-haters oppose is anything to do with patriotism, our flag, nativity scenes on public property or any recognition of God in schools (Basically anything good). But if the churches can be used to help pass their agendas, then it's ok.

It's also a pity that the Denver City Council seems to have forgotten who it is that they actually represent--the taxpaying American citizens who voted them into office. Hopefully when they come up for re-election they'll learn that the illegal aliens that they have been pandering to can't and don't vote.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse...

The Liberal establishment in Denver is already wringing their hands over the poor protesters who are still enroute to the upcoming Democratic National Convention in that city. But they aren't worrying about how to get these patchouli-reeking trust-fund kids and other assorted vandal and hooligans to behave. Oh no. They're worrying that the police are going to violate the rights of these useless idiots when said idiots act up and get arrested for the usual protester activities: destruction of property, assault, drug possession, etc.

The Denver papers are already opining about how the rights of these no-job-having, no-bath-taking rebellious rich kids need to be respected above all. (No mention at all about the possible damage to public and private property, the cost to the taxpayers who actually live here or injuries to the police officers who have to collect this human refuse.)

Som to help, I have written here a Bill of Rights for the losers who are descending on Denver to cause trouble for no real reason other than mommy and daddy coddled them too much when they were babies.

1. You have the right to peaceably assemble.

2. You have the right to respect other people's rights and property. If you give up that right, you have the right to be arrested, with as much force applied against you as your cooperation or lack thereof dictates.

3. If you are arrested, you have the right to be treated equally with any other prisoner, including the right to be held as long as it takes to process you, the right to whatever food they serve, the right to use open, common toilets, and the right to share holding cells with crack heads and gang bangers. You also have the right to be held until your identity can be established and assurances given that you'll appear in court. And it doesn't matter who your daddy is.

4. If you give up these rights and resist or lay hands on the police, you have the right to get your block knocked off. You're grown now, you know better, and the police aren't paid to play games with you.

Ah Denver... With councilmen like Doug Linkhart, you can forget about order and public safety.

So the Democratic National Convention is coming up in Denver. And aside from Obama getting crowned, the Dems now face the anger of the fringe leftists that feel rightfully betrayed after the Dems courted them and pandered to them while trying to gain control of Congress two years ago and abandoned them and their issues right after gaining the majority. Yep, contrary to Dem promises, the war is still going on, pulling out is off the table, and leaders like Nancy Pelosi who once embraced and encouraged nutters like Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink now routinely call the police to have their former allies removed from Capitol grounds. And the nutters are seething and planning to get their revenge at the convention by resorting to their old tricks--disruption of other speakers, vandalism, destruction of public and private property, assaults on police officers, and as much anarchy, rioting and hooliganism as they can get away with.

To this end, the police have asked the city council to do the reasonable thing, and ban possession of items which can be used as weapons or prevent identification of the criminal actors. That much is clear from this story. However the loon left has a savior in City Councilman Doug Linkhart, who objected to common sense provisions which criminalized the possession of gas masks and bullet proof vests, items that have the singular purpose of enabling the criminals to resist and fight the police and avoid identification and apprehension.

As these anarchist wanna-be's travel around the country causing damage and occasionally injuring people, they often resort to wearing masks so that they cannot be photographed or identified by eyewitnesses while smashing windows, painting walls, burning cars, or hurling objects at the police. Any study of events where these goons congregate shows that when they are prohibited from wearing masks or possessing gas masks and other implements designed to frustrate law enforcement crown control techniques, they behave much more appropriately. They don't want to be tear-gassed or identified while committing felonies, so they don't act nearly as stupid. But give these losers anonymity in the form of masks, bandannas over their faces, etc., and then they get brave and destructive because they know that there won't be any consequences to whatever they do. And let's be honest--most of the "black bloc" crowd doesn't give a fig about the political issues that they pretend to protest. They just want an excuse to damage things without being held responsible. Most are spoiled upper-class white kids traveling around on their trust funds or allowances from their wealthy-as-hell parents and they don't even have a reason to protest most of the things that they feign outrage over. They just enjoy causing carnage.

Now some police agencies know how to deal with them. Washington DC and Miami are places where these kids don't want to play. It's illegal to wear masks in those venues, and the police aren't shy about meeting force with force and cracking loser heads. And then we have places like Seattle and Portland which have sustained massive amounts of pulic and private property damage after kow-towing to these criminals by restraining the police and giving the anarchists carte blanche in the mistaken belief that exerting any control is somehow akin to censorship and un-Democratic. Well it seems as if Doug Linkhart is trying to add Denver to that latter list via his attempts to hamstring the police. I wonder if he'll feel any personal responsibility and give any of his own money to help compensate the victims of the anarchist storm that he's helping to unleash on his own city? I doubt it. Flaming liberals like him always manage to blame someone else for the consequences of their actions, and no matter how restrained they are, the police will bear the blame from Linkhart and other Monday morning quarterbacks when they have to respond forcefully in order to stem the tide of lawlessness and destruction that Linkhart helped unleash on Denver. And most of the criminals won't even be from Denver, but are traveling there just to cause trouble. Why Linkhart feels a need to stand up for them and against every police officer and law-abiding, peace-loving resident of and visitor to Denver is beyond me. You might want to write him and ask.

Denver's local culture?!

So according to this Daily Camera story, the folks in Denver and Boulder apparently want to show visitors who might be in town for the upcoming Democrat Party National Convention something about local values.
Now the question is, what are the values of the Denver/Boulder area and how do they plan to showcase those for the visitors.

I would suggest theme exhibits based on core Denver/Boulder values, such as:

Illegal Aliens are great. This is pure Denver. Maybe an exhibit dealing with overcrowded schools, jammed criminal court dockets and clogged Emergency Rooms. Why not even teach them to throw MS-13 gang signs?

How to be a trust-fund kid. I'm sure there are plenty around Boulder and Nederland. Now assuming that organizers can locate a few who aren't drunk, high, or busy protesting things that they don't understand, maybe they could offer insight on what it's like to be a rich but totally useless failure by the age of twenty.

Bums are cool. Take the visitors to Denver's Pearl Street Mall and watch as they're virtually mobbed by the large herd of panhandlers that Denver refuses to move along. Since Denver has a "Hug-a-wino" policy second only to that of San Francisco,

The local dope culture. Remember people...Boulder wishes that it could be like Amsterdam, where everyone can walk around toking a joint, injecting meth or hitting a crack pipe. Take the visitors up there and show them a bunch of no-job-having burnouts sitting in any of the local parks. Better yet--get the trust-fund kids to be tour guides for that. It should work out since most of them are members of the same fry-your-brain culture as the other non-rich stoners and they could make introductions and help the out-of-town Dems score something better than the zip bags of stems n' seeds that they'll otherwise have to try to score down on Colfax in Denver.

There's lots of local values that DNC organizers can showcase at the convention. Any of the above can send the visitors home with a solid taste of Denver and/or Boulder.
